The Charlottesville Fire Department responded to a small brush fire outside the Tuttle-Dunnington dorm at 1:19 a.m. Thursday.
Students were evacuated from the dorm and allowed to re-enter after the fire was extinguished.
The University Police Department was also on the scene.
University Spokesperson Anthony de Bruyn said the fire was quickly contained and extinguished by the CFD.
“There was no damage, and the cause remains under investigation,” de Bruyn said in an email statement.
