Sullivan resignation spotlights long-running debate about online education

Emails from Board of Visitors Rector Helen Dragas and former Vice Rector Mark Kington obtained Tuesday by The Cavalier Daily through a Freedom of Information Act request suggest the two believed the University should become more amenable to online learning – and quickly. Faculty Senate, Executive Vice Presidents comment on Sullivan's departure

The University Faculty Senate's executive council held an emergency meeting Thursday afternoon during which it adopted a resolution expressing a "lack of confidence in the Rector, the Vice Rector, and the Board of Visitors." Vroom elected Council president

Third-year College student Johnny Vroom, Student Council's current chief of cabinet, defeated four opponents in a student-wide election last week to be named Council's president-elect with 2,909 votes.
