The University was recently named a HEARTSafe Campus by the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation due to its strong commitment to public awareness as well as its extensive Automated External Defibrillator program.

Health System pursues environmental sustainability

Recent University initiatives to increase environmentally-friendly practices have led to changes in campus operations, construction and even the University Health System. The Health System has adopted a telemedicine program, which allows patients to virtually visit clinicians without adding to their commute.

University researchers find anesthesiology potentially harmful

A group of researchers led by Dr. Vesna Jevtovic-Todorovic and Dr. Desa Milanovic from the University Hospital’s anesthesiology department conducted a study last year that sheds light on a potential link between general anesthesia use in infants and neurodegenerative diseases later in life.
