Madison House is the independent volunteer center for students at the University. 
Once conditions allow it, in-person volunteering will resume as normal, and volunteers will be able to re-establish vital face-to-face connections.
Madison House operates in conjunction with Virginia Athletics to provide volunteer opportunities for student-athletes.
The Madison House Help line is a 24/7 student-operated confidential telephone service where volunteers are trained to listen to callers with a wide range of issues.
“The whole purpose is to give back to the community that gives us such as good college environment,” Hussain said. “In addition, the purpose was that anybody could sign up from the community of Charlottesville and get volunteers to help them with any tasks that they needed assistance with.”
Senior Becca Corbett won the 1-meter dive and took second in the 3-meter against Richmond. She again placed first and second, respectively, the following day against JMU.
Throughout the fall semester, student volunteers from Madison House work to collect donations from individuals and groups on-Grounds and in Charlottesville. The project culminates in a distribution day in December, when all the donations are given to the sponsored families.
Cavs in the Classroom helps provide assistance to teachers who had large amounts of material to cover and one-on-one attention for students who may be struggling.
The Madison House, Big Brothers Big Sisters partnership will help over 100 kids waiting for a mentor to get a placement.
Fourth-year Engineering student Dasha Tyshlek founded Health Unbound, a startup focusing on entrepreneurship in the health field, during her time at the University.
