My first few days of college were a whirlwind. Only hours after leaving the warm embraces of my closest friends from home, I found myself in the midst of thousands of strangers.

Study abroad at home

The Americans won 3-0, and my friends and I had a wonderful — if brief — visit to our nation’s birthplace, complete with Philly cheesesteaks in front of Independence Hall.

It may have started as a joke, but there was nothing funny about President Teresa Sullivan walking through the door of our apartment.

Both the game and my knee took a very wrong turn, and half of the valiant, and still winless, Cheesemakers found themselves sitting in the emergency room.
