Curry School hosts UCLA Prof. Sandra Graham

The Curry School invited Dr. Sandra Graham, an education professor at the University of California-Los Angeles, to speak Friday as part of its Education Lectureship Series. Graham discussed the recent research she has conducted demonstrating that racial and ethnic diversity within schools affect the social and academic development of minority children.

Exploring Class Council selection processes

Once the election process is completed, student self-governance provides the winning president and vice president the ability to carry out the selection process for the Council’s body at their own discretion — a practice that has raised concerns among current Council members.

Student teams competed in a 24-hour programming contest.

University hosts second annual Hack.UVA

The University hosted its second 24-hour Hack.UVA event over the weekend. Held in Newcomb, the event allowed students from the University and other schools in the region to take part in a programming competition. The contest sought to have students — undergraduate and graduate — develop and construct web and mobile platforms from scratch.
