Rotunda Renovations: Capital Replacement

Rotunda Renovations: Increasing Student Space

Sarita Herman, Rotunda Project Coordinator for UVA Facilities Management, emphasizes the importance of opening up Rotunda spaces for student use in the current renovation project. Updates include classrooms for use by the College, new study spaces in the dome room, and updated classroom technology throughout the building.

UVA Men's Soccer Team Returns to Charlottesville

The Virginia Men’s Soccer team arrived in back in Charlottesville Sunday evening, returning home from a seventh national championship win against UCLA in Cary, NC. The Cavaliers won the game 4-2 in penalty kicks after no score in regulation time. Taking a break from studying for finals, a small crowd of students met the team outside of University Hall to congratulate them on such a well deserved win after a hard fought season.

Take Back the Party Rally

Holding signs and chanting, hundreds of faculty members, graduate instructors, staff and students gathered at Beta Bridge for the “Take Back the Party: End Rape Now!” rally Saturday night. Rally members marched down Rugby Road to the Corner and back, before ending the event outside the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house. Students Protest in UVA Slut Walk

University students hosted a “Slut Walk” Friday afternoon to protest rape culture and sexual assault on Grounds. Protesters walked from the Amphitheatre, to the Lawn, the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house and Brooks Hall, before ending at Peabody Hall. Trick or Treat on the Lawn 2014

Trick or Treating on the lawn is a UVa tradition established by students in the 1980s. Candy donated by student groups is distributed from each of the 54 lawn rooms as students, faculty, and community members gather on the lawn in a huge variety of costumes.
