This year, some of the University’s graduating students promoted environmental sustainability by pledging to go balloon-free for graduation and Final Exercises.
It’s basketball season, and the University is ready for some intense games from both the men’s team — currently at No. 1 in the ACC entering the NCAA tournament — and the women’s team — entering the NCAA tournament at No. 10. While University students are bound to be chowing down on pizza and wings courtside or by the TV, the University’s basketball players are keeping an eye on the foods they’re eating.
On Tuesday, students and members of the public explored the solar paneled roof of Ruffner Hall, learning about the University’s solar endeavors and its goals for embracing green energy. This tour was part of the University’s Sustainability Days, a series of events that aim to highlight the University’s various sustainable and green-energy-related achievements.
