The University Drama Department’s production of “Direct to You!” features six plays directed by students as part of an advanced directing course in the drama department. The program offers a unique opportunity for productions run by students from top to bottom, with some even writing their own plays. Students will take to the stage this weekend Feb. 23, 24 and 25 at 8:00 p.m. in Helms Theatre.

It is easy to feel out of touch with the larger community and administration at the University — there is a wealth of interesting professors, authors, athletes and artists on Grounds that most students never come in contact with. Although exploring unfamiliar subjects or disciplines may be a little daunting, flipping on a podcast while doing the dishes, going for a run or walking home from class can be a great place to start. Old Crow Medicine Show played their first concert of a nationwide tour Thursday at Ting Pavillion on the Downtown Mall. The tour comes after Old Crow released their seventh album, “Paint This Town,” on April 22.

As the Class of 2022 graduates, they leave their own worlds within the University behind. One of these worlds is the University’s Persian Culture Society. The student group celebrates Iranian culture, showcasing Iranian arts, music, dance, and fashion.
