The VMI men's basketball team came into last night's game in University Hall looking for a repeat performance of last year's contest, in which the Keydets stunned the Cavaliers by keeping the came close through the entire first half. Unfortunately for the Keydets, this year's Virginia team came out determined not to let that happen again and scored a 98-57 win that sent VMI packing.

The Cavalier women's tennis team won three out of four singles divisions Sunday to make a solid showing at the three-day Wolfpack Invitational held at N.C. State. Third-year Leslie Cook and second-years Amy O'Donnell and Christine Kim all won titles in their respective divisions. Third-year Kelly Weaver and first-year Jennifer Tuchband combined to take one of the doubles divisions for the Cavs.

The Cavalier women's volleyball team took their undefeated record into the Hi-IQ Classic Tournament Saturday against Rice University in Williamsburg. The Cavaliers, led by fourth-year middle blocker Jessica Parsons, recorded a 3-2 victory in dramatic fashion. The Cavs rallied to overcome a 2-1 game deficit by winning the fifth and deciding game 17-15. Parsons, named the tournament's most valuable player, recorded a career high 27 digs and seven blocks to help improve the Cav record to 7-0. Fourth-year Mary Francis Scott and third-year Deanna Zwarich also turned in stellar performances to earn themselves positions on the Hi-IQ All-Tournament Team. Next up for the Cavaliers is a trip to Georgetown University tonight to take on the Hoyas.
