Seventeen-year-old country singer Mason Ramsey brought his “Falls Into Place Tour” to the Jefferson Theater on Saturday evening, playing for a sold-out audience. Catapulted to viral fame by a 2018 video that featured him yodeling in a Walmart, Ramsey has evolved beyond his yodeling kid roots to find his voice as an up-and-coming artist. His Saturday set showcased this evolution with a combination of crowd-pleasing covers and originals — and just the right amount of yodeling.

Comedian Taylor Tomlinson is a fan-favorite veteran of the Netflix comedy circuit, and her latest special, “Have It All,” dropped on the streaming service in time for Valentine’s Day. Drawing on similar themes as her previous specials “Quarter-Life Crisis” and “Look at You,” Tomlinson riffs on mental health, dating and not-so-young adulthood in this tightly-written, hour-long set.

The student-run cast of Rocky Horror at U.Va. screened “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in Newcomb Hall Theater Friday evening, a semesterly tradition drawing an enthusiastic audience of die-hard “Rocky” fans and new viewers alike. Bubbles blew, toilet paper flew and cast members shed a layer or two as the 1975 cult-classic played behind a live shadow cast reenactment.

A hand-painted window sign greets customers as they enter The Beautiful Idea, a new trans-owned bookshop and makers’ market on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall. Wedged between a boutique and a CBD dispensary, the store sells artwork from over twenty small businesses run by LGBTQ+ artists into a colorful, brick-and-mortar home.

An eclectic collection of artwork welcomes visitors to Ix Art Park’s Sunset Market Thursday evenings from May to October. Strings of fairy lights twinkle over an open patio dotted with booths where vendors sell stickers, fiber art, woodwork, soaps and handmade jewelry.

Children danced in dizzying circles in front of the stage as families spread their picnic blankets on the grass. Elderly couples lounged in folding chairs and took pre-concert selfies. The Charlottesville community gathered at the Ting Pavilion Friday evening to watch the Isabel Bailey Band, a folk-rock ensemble out of Richmond.

In the midst of a busy concert season, a hidden gem of the University’s a cappella scene rocked out in Room 402 of the Chemistry Building. Twenty performers dressed in red and black sang for a warm audience of family, friends and fans who filled an impressive number of seats in the sprawling lecture hall. Each song in their set received thunderous applause, from the electric opener, “Red Desert,” to the closing number, “Shine a Little Light.”

“Double, double, toil and trouble…” the University’s student-run theatre organization Shakespeare on the Lawn mounted a powerful production of “Macbeth” in Pavilion Garden I this weekend, bringing one of the Bard’s greatest tragedies to Grounds for a three-afternoon run. Audience members lounged on picnic blankets or folding chairs as the action unfolded against the University Chapel, framed by falling flower petals, twisting tree branches and a slow, golden sunset.
