Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Charlottesville Police confirm Matthew landed at Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport at 5:45 p.m. Friday and is now being held in Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail. He was held without bond. A bond hearing will be held in the Charlottesville General District Court on Thursday, Oct. 2.
Charlottesville resident Jesse Matthew was taken into police custody Wednesday in Galveston, Texas, Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo confirmed at a press conference Wednesday evening. Police have been searching for Matthew since Saturday in connection with the disappearance of second-year College year student Hannah Graham. Graham has been missing since early morning Sept. 13.

Update 2 p.m: Charlottesville Police Captain Gary Pleasants confirms police are conducting another search at Matthew's Hessian Hills apartment. Police have also released a wanted poster for Matthew — which can be seen at the bottom of the article. The poster reports Matthew is believed to be in possession of a 1997 light blue Nissan Sentra with Virginia tags and a license plate number VAC-4575.

Following a security leak which exposed the social security numbers of more than 18,000 students, fourth-year College student Neil Branch, student council’s vice president for organizations, is calling for increased student input on the University’s approach to the security of personal information.
More than 18,000 students received an informational brochure from Aetna Health Insurance earlier this month which inadvertently included their social security numbers above their names on the address labels. The error was the result of an outdated computer program used exclusively by the University’s Department of Student Health to gather data from the Student Information System, University spokesperson McGregor McCance said in an email.
Approximately 18,700 students’ social security numbers may be compromised after a mailing error caused the numbers to be printed on the outside of envelopes sent directly to students, University spokesperson McGregor McCance confirmed in an email Wednesday.
