The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams traveled to Knoxville for the Tennessee Invite Thursday. The No.1 ranked women finished with 809.5 points, behind Tennessee with 1203.5 and Alabama with 881.5 points. The No. 7 ranked men’s team finished with 728 points, behind Tennessee with 1004 and Alabama with 980 points. The meet took place over three days and showcased improvement for both teams.

The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams faced off against Texas on Friday and Saturday in a high-ranked matchup at the Aquatic and Fitness Center in Charlottesville. Coming into the meet, the Longhorns’ men's team was ranked No. 1, and the women’s team No. 5. Virginia women improved to 3-0 on the season and moved up to the No. 1 spot on the NCAA rankings with a 201-152 win, while the men’s team fought hard but came up short in a 122-223 loss.

The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams defeated Army in a successful dual meet this past weekend at the Aquatic and Fitness Center in Charlottesville. The women’s team improved to 2-0 on the dual season with a 181-89 win, while the men’s team got its first win of the season, finishing with a score of 186-94.

Virginia men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Joe Piane/Notre Dame Invitational on Friday — a meet hosted by the Fighting Irish at the site of the 2021 ACC Championships. Out of 56 competing teams, the men’s team finished in 21st place and the women’s team in 22nd.

Virginia men’s and women’s cross country teams were at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va. on Saturday morning for the Richmond Spider Alumni Open. Both teams started off their season on a positive note, clinching first place for their respective events.

Throughout the nation, Virginia has earned the reputation of being “annoying” to play against, and it’s not hard to see why. On their path to winning the NCAA championship last season, the Cavaliers allowed an average of just 56.1 points per game.
