The No. 7 Virginia men’s tennis team (28-5, 12-0 ACC) took down No. 8 Kentucky (26-8, 10-2 SEC) to cap off a stellar tournament run this Sunday, earning its fifth overall national championship — all of which were earned in the past decade. The Cavaliers also defeated No. 2 Florida (26-3, 12-0 SEC) and No. 6 Tennessee (26-8, 8-4 SEC) prior to defeating the Wildcats in the championship match.

The No. 7 Virginia men’s tennis team (25-5, 12-0 ACC) advanced to its 15th quarterfinal in the last 17 NCAA Championships with a 4-0 victory over No. 10 South Carolina (23-7, 10-2 SEC) Friday. The Cavaliers have now won all of their NCAA Championship matches this year with the same score of 4-0 and will play No. 2 Florida (26-2, 12-0 SEC) in the quarterfinal.

The No. 7 Virginia men’s tennis team (24-5, 12-0 ACC) advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2022 NCAA Men’s Tennis Team Championship after winning both matches of the Charlottesville Regional on the indoor courts of the Boar’s Head Sports Club. They have now rattled off 19 wins in a row and will host No. 10 South Carolina next in a Super Regional.

The Virginia men’s tennis team will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships this weekend. The men’s team drew the seventh seed in the tournament and will share hosting duties with the fifth-seeded women’s team in their respective championships.

The final meet of a fantastic regular season from the Cavaliers was highlighted by the performance of graduate student Michaela Meyer, who won the 800-meter with a time of 2:01.82. In doing so, she broke her own school record, set a facility record and recorded the eighth best time in the nation this season.
