Officials at Hampton University, in Hampton, Va., expelled two students this month who were charged with the murder of a former student, according to Hampton Spokesperson Sarita L. Scott.
A Virginia judge upheld a Hampton policy Tuesday that requires the expulsion of students charged with felonies.
Hampton police officials said they arrested Wesley J. Brimmage and Christian M. Edwards Feb. 8 during a party at an off-campus apartment they shared on, charging them with murder in the death of Samuel E. Weeks. Weeks attended Hampton from 1996 to 2000.
An altercation outside the apartment rendered Weeks unconscious, according to medical officials.
Hampton officials removed Brimmage and Edwards from the institution Feb. 10, Scott said.
