Sleadd said he hopes to convey the student experience to the Board, generally expand student participation in University governance and rebuild the connection between the student body and the Board.

This year, Valedictory Exercises will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena. As the official kickoff to graduation weekend, the ceremony will be open to all students and their families without ticketing restrictions.

Mitchell said he plans to prioritize building Student Council’s long-term financial stability through an endowment, expanding access and awareness of mental health resources and increasing the Council’s visibility and engagement with the broader student body.
Representatives also swore in third-year College student Saehee Pérez as Student Council vice president for administration and third-year Batten student Harper Tran as vice president for organizations.
The Honor Committee met Sunday for its final meeting of the 2025-26 academic year to discuss a recommendation of how to handle student unresponsiveness after students are notified of an alleged violation of the University’s honor code.
Objectives detailed by Gilmore include communication with University administration, overseeing the UBE’s budget, increasing student engagement and conducting an annual internal review.
“The Honor Committee and the University Judiciary Committee no longer organize or offer implicit bias training for their members that include impermissible content regarding race or other protected characteristics,” the report stated.
Sahasra Molletti, co-chair for the Faculty Advisory Committee, Batten representative and second-year College student, was elected to serve as the new vice chair for the graduate community for the term.
Law Prof. Andy Block — who was not present but submitted a statement to be read aloud — and Law Prof. Rich Hines each gave statements for the Chair-elect position, which will begin this summer and transition into the Senate Chair position in 2027.
