A media release from University Spokesperson Bethanie Glover Thursday announced that the new search for the University's permanent executive vice president and provost began Monday.
The July 13 media release lays out some early priorities Beardsley has for the planning process, a few of which include “faculty excellence, access and affordability … [and] world-class patient care.”

Approximately one year since Ryan’s resignation, and six months since the appointment of University President Scott Beardsley and the reconstitution of the Board, many groups still remain hesitant to fully trust University leadership, and are asking it to continue investigating the events of the last year.
Solomon joined Batten in September 2019 as the school’s third dean, and in 2024, the University appointed him to serve a second, five-year term.
According to the U.Va. Health press release announcing her appointment, Snyder will begin in the role Aug. 3 and is replacing Kathy Baker, interim CEO of the Medical Center.
Rosner also presented the issues still facing U.Va. Health, and posed six questions to Board members regarding how the University can work to ensure the Health System expands efficiently.
The School of Medicine launched the Facial Nerve Center this spring, bringing together a team of 18 practitioners to treat patients of all ages affected by facial paralysis.
The full Board of Visitors will convene Wednesday and hold 12 meetings between Thursday and Saturday.
