Ariana Grande released her seventh studio album, “Eternal Sunshine,” March 8. At just under 36 minutes of run time, “Eternal Sunshine” is her shortest project to date, but arguably her most personal — it offers an exploration of her divorce, her reputation and the complex and intricate emotion behind it all.

Among a plethora of student bands, from fraternity bands to cover bands, one made entirely of female musicians sets itself apart from the rest, Fair Verona. Fairly new to the Charlottesville band scene, the only all-girl band at the University — according to Emma Gorman, drummer and fourth-year College student — consists of four members who are united by their love of indie pop/rock, performing and the University’s music scene.

Some of these artists have already released lead singles to grow the already significant anticipation for these upcoming projects.

Following the return to Grounds from Thanksgiving break, a rapid and intense two weeks of essays, projects and exams ensue. This tumultuous period of time — while necessary — is often grueling, leaving students exhausted for the beginning of the holiday season.

A capella supergroup Pentatonix will stop in Charlottesville Dec. 9 for their cross-country Christmas tour, “The Most Wonderful Tour of the Year.” The tour is an exhibition of the group’s latest album, “The Greatest Christmas Hits,” released in October. The album includes classic songs from Pentatonix’s festive catalog as well as eight new Christmas tracks.

As the weather gets crisper and the leaves turn into alluring shades of crimson, copper and gold on Grounds, a feeling of melancholy and dread sets in. There are treacherous waters ahead — finals, cramming and Thanksgiving. So, while the fall season is traditionally associated with cheerful mainstays like pumpkins, cider, turkey and football, it also signifies a season of change.

A cappella is a serious matter at the University. With close to 15 unique groups ranging from the No Tones, a group for people who claim they can’t sing, to the Flying V’s, a “rock-appella” group, there’s something for everyone — though the intense audition process can make joining a group competitive.

The Virginia Women’s Chorus presented its seventh annual Women Against Violence Benefit Concert “Can You Feel The Love Tonight?” this past Saturday at Warner Hall. All proceeds of the concert went to Shelter for Help in Emergency, a local organization that provides support for victims of domestic violence, offering shelter and other necessities for victims in emergency situations as well as investing in preventative measures.
