Remote Area Medical at U.Va. is a college chapter of a national organization with the primary mission of reducing pain and alleviating suffering. The University's chapter of RAM assists with free clinics in the central Virginia area and has recently started hosting their own clinics as well, with a clinic in Fishersville planned for this April.

The Board of Visitors’ Buildings and Grounds Committee tabled a proposal to rename the University’s main library during Thursday’s Buildings and Grounds Committee session. While the issue will reappear on the upcoming Board meeting agenda in March, the building will open Jan. 8 as Alderman Library.

The Board of Visitors College at Wise Committee reviewed the search for a new provost and presented successful student recruitment efforts during Friday’s meeting. The Committee said the College will continue to expand its reach through a growing student body along with online education programs.

U.Va. Health will no longer require COVID-19 vaccinations for team members as of Aug. 4, per an update announced Tuesday. While this change in policy follows new guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, representatives say U.Va. Health continues to recommend vaccinations.

Students at the University established a 40-member chapter of the co-ed environmental science fraternity Epsilon Eta as a Contracted Independent Organization March 15. The group intends to bring together students across majors through a shared interest in learning about and improving the environment.
