Virginia was unable to add to its winning streak, dropping four games in a row against Clemson over the weekend. The Cavaliers (6-9, 2-7 ACC) were underdogs against the Tigers (13-2, 8-2 ACC) and were unable to find the offensive momentum necessary to secure a win over the weekend.

The Cavaliers (3-4, 2-3 ACC) played their first conference games of the season this past week. Though Virginia was scheduled to play both Louisville (3-4, 3-2 ACC) and Pittsburgh (1-6, 1-4 ACC) three times each, a game against Louisville was canceled due to inclimate weather.

The Cavaliers (1-1, 0-0 ACC) opened up their season Feb. 13 in Athens, Ga. as they faced off against Georgia (2-1, 0-0 SEC) and South Alabama (1-2, 0-0 SUN). Though Virginia was originally scheduled to play each team twice in the Red & Black Showcase, the final two games were canceled due to severe weather.

Virginia volleyball will travel to Durham, N.C. to face Duke Friday, as the two ACC foes face off for the second time this season following the postponement of the Oct. 3 matchup due to COVID-19 and injury related issues within the Virginia squad. The first game was played in Charlottesville on Oct 2. and resulted in the sweep of the Cavaliers (1-5, 0-5 ACC), as the Blue Devils (5-2, 5-2 ACC) dominated all three sets.

Virginia hosts NC State Friday evening as they match up for the first time this season. The Cavaliers (1-3, 0-3 ACC) hope to get back into the win column after losing three straight games. On the other hand, the Wolfpack (0-4, 0-4 ACC) are looking for their first win of the season as they try to snap a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Virginia will travel to Blacksburg Friday afternoon to play Virginia Tech for its second conference game of the season. The Cavaliers (1-1, 0-1 ACC) are still looking for their first conference win of the season, while the Hokies (2-1, 1-1 ACC) hope to extend their winning streak of one game.
