This is a comprehensive collection of articles The Cavalier Daily published related to Otto Warmbier, a Commerce Student at the University of Virginia, who was arrested and imprisoned by North Korea in 2016 on charges of subversion. Shortly after his sentencing of 15 years of imprisonment and hard labor, he sustained a neurological injury and fell into a coma, unbeknownst by the American public. In July 2017, after 15 months in the country, North Korean authorities disclosed his condition. Warmbier was released to the United States for further treatment, but did not regain consciousness. Last fall, I wasted my syllabus week. Yes, I’ll admit it. Having freshly moved into my dorm, I felt independent and fiercely confident. However, in my first-year haze, I was hideously unaware of the chaos barreling my way after a week of work-free bliss. Suddenly, I found myself three readings behind and $200 poorer. If I could redo my first week at the University, I’d make a few changes — ones that could save me my time, money and sanity.

The corner of the field, the one down there by the home bench, is basically sacred ground at Klöckner Stadium. It is the place where home players warm up, the area players’ families congregate after a game, and it has staged many a goal celebration, substitutes pouring off the bench, players arrowing over from the field, them all meeting in a euphoric confluence near the corner flag.

As a whole, linebackers on the 2024 Virginia football team accounted for two of the team’s top three leaders in tackles, as well as two of the top five in tackles for loss. Fortunately, all of the unit’s contributors are back for 2025 and will play a pivotal role in turning around a defense that finished in the bottom five in the ACC last season in yards and points per game allowed.
