HOUSING SPECIAL: To Our Readers:

Every year around this time University students are faced with the daunting task of choosing from an array of housing options for the next school year. Midterms, papers and that weekend's party often take a backseat in the minds of first, second and third years as they try to weigh all of their options while at the same time racing to ensure they get their first choice.

To help ease some of these housing woes, The Cavalier Daily is offering the return of its annual Housing Supplement. We hope this will be a yearly tradition from now on to give you a base to start from as you begin the housing search.

No matter what part of the housing process you may find yourself in, the inside pages offer helpful information.

Still facing the biggest decision yet -- to live on Grounds or not to live on Grounds? See pages three and six for an in-depth look at both on-Grounds and off-Grounds housing options. Page five also offers a complete listing of off-Grounds housing realtors in the area.

If you have already taken the final leap and signed a lease for next year, page four gives some safety tips for your new home, and page five lists utility companies in the area to help make the transition more smooth.

This supplement could not have been possible without the hard work of our staff. Special Thanks to Abby Curran, Chris Wilson, Deirdre Erin Murphy, Jen Michaels, Abby Fox, Lisa Florkowski and Guillaume de Torquat.

Whether you are a first year taking your first step into the world of upperclassman housing or a third year that feels like a grizzled veteran, everyone needs some help along the way in the housing process. Good luck!
