Radford might impose mid-year tuition increase
Radford University could hand its undergraduate students a 28 percent mid-year tuition increase if the school's board of visitors approves the measure next week.
The surcharge would raise tuition $1,100 for the spring semester.
Radford raised tuition last spring, and might raise it again for the fall of 2003, Radford University spokeswoman Debbie Brown said.
If Radford's mid-year surcharge passes, it will follow in the footsetps of the University, as well as William & Mary and James Madison University, all of whom have imposed similar tution increases to offset budget cuts.
International Education Week set for Nov. 18-22
The International Studies Office will welcome students to explore study abroad opportunities during International Education Week, from Nov. 18 to 22.
There will be an open house tea in Minor Hall room 216 on Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In a separate event, faculty will discuss their personal travel experiences at the International Center on 21 University Circle from 3:30 until 5 p.m.

Judge withdraws arrest warrant of O.J. Simpson
O.J. Simpson received an arrest warrant for speeding in his boat through a manatee zone in a powerboat near Miami, the Associated Press reported yesterday.
Simpson declined to pay the $65 fine -- the eqivalent of a speeding ticket, and instead pleaded innocent of the offense.
Simpson and his attorney, Yale Galanter, failed to show up for their first court appearance. Yesterday the judge withdrew the warrant against Simpson when his attorney appeared in court, claiming there was a mixup in the scheduling.
