Following recent decisions by Gov. Mark R. Warner to veto and modify several pieces of new legislation, Republican State Attorney General Jerry W. Kilgore publicly criticized Warner's moves in a press conference yesterday.
The two pieces of legislation Warner vetoed would have repealed the estate tax and approved a controversial "Choose Life" license plate respectively.
Kilgore also said he disapproved of Warner's proposed changes to separate legislation that would have required minors to receive parental permission before having an abortion, banned partial birth abortions and prevented illegal aliens from receiving in-state tuition rates.
Members of the Virginia General Assembly will have a chance to override Warner's vetoes and consider his amendments when the next session begins April 2.
