The grand opening of the University's renovated Science and Engineering Library in Clark Hall is scheduled for Oct. 3.
The University Board of Visitors will attend the inaugural event for the $10 million project. The ceremony is open to both the University and the public.
Joe Palca, senior science correspondent for National Public Radio, is slated to present a public talk at 2:30 p.m. in the main room, followed by a reception.
The library is equipped with the latest technology blended with the best traditional elements, according to a University press release.
The state-of-the-art equipment is designed to meet current technological needs and to keep users updated with the knowledge explosions in their various fields, said Carol R. Hunter, director of the Science and Engineering Libraries system, which includes departmental satellite-libraries.
