University leaders to attend retreat with administrators

Selected student leaders, members of the faculty, administration and Board of Visitors members will join University President John T. Casteen, III and University Provost Gene Block at an all-University retreat today.

The retreat will feature discussion groups and a presentation College Dean Edward L. Ayers on "Starting the Conversation on Curriculum Review at U.Va."

In groups, attendees will discuss topics such as "Does the double major work?," "How can we make our curricula more international?" and "Are our undergraduates being adequately prepared for graduate school and the work force?."

Block will facilitate a student panel discussion. The retreat will be hosted at Newcomb Hall between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
