City announces free leaf collection program

Beginning Nov. 3, the Charlottesville Department of Public Works will offer free leaf collection to city trash customers.

Public Works employees will distribute clear plastic bags for leaf collection to customers this week. Bags are also available at the Treasurer's office in City Hall or the Public Works Administration Building at 305 4th St. NW.

Customers are requested to place their bagged leaves at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on Monday mornings. Those with questions about the program may call 970-3830.
