Businesses oppose Preston development

Local business owners have expressed opposition to a proposed residential and commercial development at the intersection of Preston Ave., Grady Ave. and 10th St, WINA reports.

A similar proposal was defeated early last year when the city did not receive any bids for development of the one-acre plot, which would necessitate reconfiguration of the intersection.

Since then, however, recent changes in the city zoning ordinance have sparked interest in the development, which now would be subject to less stringent parking requirements than under the previous regulations.
