Memorial will honor slain police officer

Former Greene County Sheriff William Morris is working on a granite memorial to honor County Sgt. Rodney L. Davis, who was killed in the line of duty last August.

Davis was shot while attempting to serve an arrest warrant for the suspected distribution of crack cocaine.

The memorial, which will be unveiled on the one-year anniversary of Davis' death, will also feature a 25-foot flagpole.
