Neuhauser sets new mark at tournament

With rounds of 68, 72 and 68 at the Cougar Classic, junior Whitney Neuhauser set a new Virginia 54-hole tournament scoring record of 208, besting the old record of 210 set by Leah Wigger in 2005. Fueled by Neuhauser’s performance, the No. 14 Virginia women’s golf team finished fourth in the 22-team tournament with a total score of 874.
Neuhauser’s previous 54-hold best was an even-par 72.
No. 9 Georgia won the tournament with a score of 858, a five-shot margin against No. 10 Alabama.
