Newcomb Drive closes Friday

Beginning Friday, a segment of Newcomb Drive will be closed between the University Bookstore loading dock and the east entrance to the Bookstore to pedestrian and vehicular traffic through August 2012. Nicole Smith, Department of Parking and Transportation administrative assistant, said the closing will occur because of ongoing renovations of Newcomb Hall, including the dining hall expansion. The Bookstore, Newcomb Hall and surrounding buildings will remain accessible. The Newcomb Drive entrance to the Visitor's Parking Garage will be closed until 2012, but the main Emmet Street access point will remain open. Pedestrian traffic will be restricted to only the area between the University Bookstore loading dock and the east entrance to the Bookstore.
