Boyle hauls No. 8 recruiting class

The Virginia women’s basketball team announced letters of intent from four recruits Wednesday, and coach Joanne Boyle’s 2013 class now ranks No. 8 in the nation, according to Blue Star Report.

Sydney Umeri, of Atlanta, Ga., headlines the recruits after playing on the 2011 USA U16 national team. Blue Star ranks her No. 13 in the nation, and ESPN slots the physical 6-foot-1 forward No. 29 overall and No. 9 at her position. Woodbridge, Va. native Breyana Mason follows as ESPN’s No. 52 recruit and No. 13 point guard.

The Cavaliers also added Amanda Fioravanti, a 6-foot-1 forward from Adamstown, Md., who ESPN ranks No. 93 overall and No. 24 at her position. Fioravanti teamed in high school with current Cavalier Faith Randolph. Five-foot-10 guard Tiffany Suarez of Miami, Fla. rounds out the class for Virginia. Blue Star ranks her No. 74, and ESPN ranks her as the No. 31 guard.
