Bibliographical Society names student book collectors contest winners

The Bibliographical Society will honor the winners of its 45th biannual student book collectors competition today at 4 p.m. in the Alderman Library McGregor Room.

Law student Justin Gilbert won the contest with his collection titled "Victorian Serial Fiction: Penny Bloods, Penny Dreadfuls and Boys' Journals." Gilbert will receive the top $300 prize.

Graduate Education student Stephen Schroth garnered a second-place showing in the competition for his collection of children's series books. Schroth will receive a $150 prize.

English doctoral student Melissa White received an honorable mention with her collection of books titled "The Wide, Wide World." White will receive a $75 prize.

The winning selections have been on display in Alderman Library Memorial Hall since Tuesday.
