Boyd Tinsley supports Al Weed's run for Congress at Starr Hill fundraiser

Dave Matthews Band Violinist Boyd Tinsley gathered with Young Democrats Saturday at the Starr Hill Gallery during a campaign event to support local congressional candidate Al Weed, the Daily Progress reported.

Weed is challenging incumbent Congressman Virgil H. Goode, R-Rocky Mount.

"We are really stuck in a mess," Tinsley told The Daily Progress. "The economy is going to hell, the war in Iraq is going to hell [and] we are going backwards."

Tinsley told students they must put Weed in Congress and remove President George W. Bush from the White House.

Tinsley has been a consistent supporter of the Democratic Party throughout his career, the Daily Progress reported.
