Foley honored for play in William & Mary Nike Tribe Invitational

Midfielder Shannon Foley was named to the Soccer America and Soccer Buzz teams of the week for her play in last weekend's invitational in Williamsburg. The sophomore led the Virginia women's soccer team to the tournament championship, its second in as many weeks.

Over the weekend, Foley totaled two goals and two assists, including the lone goal in the Cavaliers' shutout victory over William & Mary. Her four point performance in Friday's win over George Mason was a career high.

The accolade was Foley's first on the season from Soccer America, continuing a streak of three consecutive weeks in which a Cavalier has been included on the team. Soccer Buzz has nominated Foley twice, the first coming during the initial week of the season.
