University included on top list of schools for sports merchandising

The University has received yet another accolade.

According to the Atlanta-based Collegiate Licensing Company, the University ranks as one of the top 50 colleges and universities in the United States for the amount of school merchandise sold.

The company releases a list at the beginning of every year ranking schools for the amount of merchandise sold. This current list covers from July 2003 to June 2004.

In the company's most recent survey, the University comes in at 34, just below Georgia Tech and above the University of Pittsburgh.

The University of North Carolina, Michael Jordan's alma mater, tops the list at number one, followed by the Universities of Michigan and Texas at numbers two and three respectively.

No other Virginia schools made the list.
