Virginia women's golf ranked No. 14

In the first national ranking of the season from Golfweek.com, the Cavaliers stand at No. 14 in just their second year of competition. The inaugural 2003-2004 season finished with Virginia at No. 61 under coach Jan Mann.

Last weekend's Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. was the team's first tournament. The Cavaliers finished fourth, led by sophomores Rachel Smith and Leah Wigger. Smith currently stands at No. 3 and Wigger at No. 11 in the nation.

Virginia is one of two ACC teams in the national top-25. Wake Forest is No. 17.
