The University's Darden School ranked 12th overall, just ahead of Harvard and Duke, in the Wall Street Journal's list of the best graduate business schools in North America released this week.
Darden's Olsson Center for Applied Ethics was rated fourth worldwide in the category of business ethics. Darden School Dean Robert Harris said he was "pleased the school moved up" in the rankings this year.
Harris added that he was particularly proud of the high ethics rankings, which he believed is connected to the Jeffersonian tradition on honor at the University.
The University of Michigan topped the Wall Street Journal list, with Carnegie-Mellon University, Dartmouth University, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Chicago rounding out the top five.
Additionally, the Princeton Review released its business school rankings this week. The publication compiled its version of America's 10 best business schools in 11 separate categories.
Darden appeared in five, with the school's highest rating, a second, in the "Best Professor" category.
Harris said he took great pride in this high grade because it is "the heart of the school."
Darden also cracked the top 10 in "Best Campus Environment," "Best Campus Facilities," "Greatest Opportunity for Women" and "Most Family Friendly."
