Cavaliers win four titles in tournament

The Virginia women's tennis team won three of the four singles championship flights and won a doubles title in the nine-team Deacon Classic last weekend. All of Virginia's singles titles were won in straight sets.

Two Virginia freshmen met in the Flight B championship. Rachel Del Priore defeated teammate Lindsey Pereira, 6-3, 6-1. In the Flight C championship, junior Marta Bechliwanis beat Davidson's Lindsey Powel, 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore Lauren Bruch captured the Flight D title by defeating Virginia Tech's Kate Harrington, 6-3, 6-1. In doubles action, the Cavalier duo of freshman Carolina Hammond and sophomore Lori Stern won its match 8-2.
