Month of September
During the month of September five students were found not guilty in honor trials by random student juries of their peers.
Saturday, October 2
Two undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences were tried for unauthorized collaboration on a test in an introductory-level class. The alleged act of cheating was identified by students; however, a faculty member and an Honor Committee member initiated the two cases. Both students were found not guilty of act and intent by a random student jury of their peers.
Sunday, October 3
An undergraduate student from the School of Engineering and Applied Science was tried for stealing personal electronic files from another student. The case was discovered and initiated by a student member of the University community.The accused student was found not guilty of act and intent by a random student jury.
Ongoing
The Honor Committee currently is investigating 28 cases of alleged honor offenses and has 10 cases intended for trial.
