Women's golf heads to Rudolph Macon tournament

The No. 14 Virginia women's golf team will participate in its second tournament of the season this weekend.

The Rudolph Mason Championship will be held from today to Sunday at the Legends Club Ironhorse Course in Franklin, Tenn. The 54-hole, 18-team tournament is hosted by Vanderbilt.

This weekend will mark the second opportunity for the Cavaliers to fair well against tough competition. In its season-opener, the Cougar Classic, Virginia placed fourth overall. Cavalier sophomore Rachel Smith became the first Virginia player to earn medalist honors by putting in a four-under-par performance with 212 strokes.
