The stellar seasons of four Virginia men's soccer stars were recognized yesterday when junior Hunter Freeman, senior Matt Oliver, freshman Nico Colaluca and freshman Jeremy Barlow were named to the 2004 All-ACC Teams.
Defenders Freeman and Oliver were chosen for the All-ACC First Team, and Colaluca, a midfielder, was selected for the All-ACC Second Team. Colaluca and Barlow, also a midfielder, were named to the All-ACC Freshman Team as well.
Maryland and regular season conference champion Wake Forest led the league, each placing four players on the All-ACC teams, while Virginia, Clemson, Duke and North Carolina had three selections apiece. Virginia was one of four schools to place two members on the All-ACC Freshman Team.
The Cavaliers will face Duke today in the first round of the ACC Men's Soccer Championship in Cary, N.C.
