Virginia men's and women's swimming squads remain undefeated with two wins

The No. 10 Cavalier men (7-0) and No. 15 Cavalier women (8-0) both remain unbeaten after victories against Tennessee and Louisiana State University Saturday.

The men recorded a 135-103 win over the No. 15 Volunteers (3-2) and a 148-84 victory over the Tigers (0-4).

Led by senior Luke Anderson, who had three event victories, the Cavalier men won nine of 13 events over their competitors.

The Virginia women notched a 126-111 triumph over host Tennessee (4-2) and a 139-95 win against LSU (1-4). Sophomore Jenny Steiner shaved over two seconds off of her season-best time to touch first in the 200 breaststroke with an NCAA "B" qualifying time of 2:15.77. Steiner also swam the breaststroke leg on Virginia's victorious 200 medley relay.

Both Steiner and Anderson were awarded ACC Swimmer of the Week honors Monday for their performances. It is Anderson's third award this season and ninth of his career and the first such honor for Steiner.
