What makes you a competent and qualified candidate?

Served as CLAS Student Council representative, currently serving as Student Life Committee Chair and experience running meetings.

In your opinion, what are the most pressing issues facing the University and how would you use your office to deal with them?

Student safety on and off Grounds. I would help advocate for late-night busing and work towards getting more lighting and blue lights around Grounds and hopefully off Grounds as well. I think working with the off-Grounds housing office and working on moving back housing dates is something that is very crucial.

How will you maintain contact with your constituency and ensure transparency in your actions?

Establish an e-mail list for constituents. Make a Web site where students can voice concerns. Have voting be put on record on a website such as Student Voice.

Why did you decide to run for office?

I want to make Council more accessible and responsive to students. I think a major problem with Council is that students don't feel as though they are welcome, so I want to open up the doors of Council to students so that they feel welcome and are more willing to share ideas with us.
