College elects Aronstein, Siegel, Fox to Honor

By Maggie Thornton Cavalier Daily Associate Editor The University Board of Elections announced the newly elected members of the University Judiciary and Honor Committees last night.

The new Honor Committee will be composed of third-year Lauren Shirley and second year Linda Bartusiak from the Architecture school, fourth year Julia Benner from the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, first year Katie Ball and second year Rebecca Green from the Nursing School, graduate student Vanessa Wynn from the Education school, third years Toby Zhang and Shannon Spurgeon from the Commerce school, Jay Trickett and Laura Holland from the Law School, third year Alison Tramba and second year Justin Starr from the Engineering school, graduate students Maria Fitzpatrick and Diane Gigantino from the College and third-year students A-J Aronstein, Kendall Fox and Andrew Siegel from the College.

"We need to work on education," Fox said. "We also need to work with faculty while still upholding traditional values."

Fox served on an Honor committee that is overseeing the faculty survey.

According to re-elected Engineering Representative Alison Tramba, the Committee will go on a retreat the weekend of March 24 to select the new executive committee.

"We have a lot of momentum going into this year," Tramba said. "We're going to see a lot of positives coming out of this group."

University Judiciary Committee representatives for the next term will be second-year Architecture students Linda Bartsiak and Robin Schick, third-year Law student Eli DeJarnette, second-year Law Student Seth Regosat, College graduate student Gavin Reddick, third-year Nursing student Meg Halford, second-year Nursing student Carolyn Cordtz, Education graduate student Crystal Goodman, third-year Commerce student Kelley Mulfinger, second-year Engineering student Marin Odioso, third-year Engineering student Pavan Gupta, third-year College student Raleigh Anne Blank, second-year College student Connor Sullivan and second-year College student Dean de la Peña.

Outgoing UJC Chair Tim Ormsby noted the previous experience of some of the the incoming Committee members. Sullivan is a current UJC College representative and Blank has served as vice chair for first years.

Ormsby added there will be a public meeting in the near future to gather community input on the formation of the new executive committee. The Committee's decision will be announced April 1, Orsmby said.

Blank added that she will be seeking another executive committee position. "I'm really excited to get back into it," Blank said.
