Wilcox to replace Rodriguez

Sarah Wilcox has been selected as the new assistant dean of students, replacing departing assistant dean Daisy Rodriguez.

Wilcox worked previously at the College of William & Mary as the Greek area director, overseeing the sororities and fraternities on the William & Mary campus.

"I'm a part of the Greek community, and though my sorority isn't represented at the University, I'm looking forward to becoming involved in the multi-cultural Greek council, as well as the wider University population," Wilcox said.

She said she was attracted to the position at the University because of the expanded duties.

"I loved working with bright, intelligent students, but this position appealed to me because of the duality of the position. I can address my responsibilities to the University population as well as the Asian Pacific-American community," Wilcox said.

As the new assistant dean of students, Wilcox will undertake operations within the Office of the Dean of Students.

"I'll be dealing with academic withdrawals, and directing students to the resources Grounds offers," said Wilcox.

Dean of Students Penny Rue said she and other members of her office are very excited that Wilcox has joined as an assistant dean.

"The search was very thorough, and it was a very competitive, highly qualified, field of individuals in the search," said Rue. "Ms. Wilcox will make a great addition to the Office of the Dean of Students."
