Despite confusing messages, a strong cast and playful comedy make us glad someone invented Lying

Written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Matt Robinson, The Invention of Lying is a satirical comedy that takes place in an alternate reality where lying does not exist.

Gervais (The Office, Extras) plays the main character, Mark Bellison - a short, fat loser who discovers how to lie, or "say what isn't." The characters not only always tell the truth, but they exercise no censorship as they feel obliged to share their stream of consciousness, no matter how rude or outlandish it may be.
