U.Va. cancels classes

Classes originally scheduled to resume at 10 a.m.

For the fourth time this semester, the University has canceled classes due to snow. At 5 a.m., the University announced that classes would begin at 10 a.m., but shortly before 8 a.m. the final decision was made.

Alderman, Clemons, and Brown Libraries opened at 10 a.m. and will close at 10 p.m. The Law Library is open until 10 p.m. as well. Dining halls are open, and Student Health and CAPS are closed.

The University Transit Service is running on a limited schedule, with the Green Route and Stadium/Hospital Shuttle running as regularly scheduled. Other routes restarted on a modified schedule at noon. Charlottesville Area Transit Route 7 and the Free Trolly are running at reduced frequency.

Charlottesville and Albemarle County schools are closed. The Charlottesville city government opened at 10:30 a.m.
