Junior point guard London Perrantes led Virginia with 19 points in the road loss against Florida State.

Five days after taking down No. 8 Miami in John Paul Jones Arena, the Cavaliers rediscovered their road woes Sunday against the Seminoles. No. 13 Virginia (13-4, 2-3 ACC) was outscored 44-34 in the second half as Florida State stormed ahead for a 69-62 victory.

The Cavaliers have lost all three of their conference away games while winning their two at home. Virginia’s three-game ACC road losing streak is its worst such streak since dropping four straight in the 2012-13 season.

Florida State (12-5, 2-3 ACC) went on a 10-0 run in the second half to take a 46-39 lead. The Seminoles stretched the advantage to as large as eight, ultimately proving insurmountable for coach Tony Bennett’s Cavaliers.

Florida State shot 48.8 percent from the field, including 63.2 percent in the second half. Additionally, the Seminoles shot 46.2 percent from beyond the arc, continuing a disturbing trend of teams hitting threes at a high clip against Virginia.

Freshman guard Dwayne Bacon led all scorers with 18 points while collecting nine rebounds. Fellow Seminole freshman guard Malik Beasley added 17 points, including a 3-3 performance from deep.

Junior guard London Perrantes led Virginia with 19 points in 37 minutes. Senior forward Anthony Gill scored 13 points while senior guard Malcolm Brogdon added 10 points on a 4-17 shooting performance.

Bennett used his fourth different starting combination in as many games, this time plugging in freshman center Jack Salt and sophomore guard Devon Hall, who made his second career start, with Brogdon, Perrantes and Gill. Sophomore guard Marial Shayok, who started against Miami, did not see the floor.

The loss snapped Virginia’s five-game win streak against Florida State.

Virginia will next host Clemson Tuesday in JPJ. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
