A shot was fired outside of Eddy’s Tavern on the University Corner around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Charlottesville Police say at 1:34 a.m. officers came on the scene, where they found a large crowd in the street area and exiting the tavern.

Police say a disorder started inside Eddy’s and moved outside, according to a release. There are no reported injuries or property damage.

The suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived and is believed to be a 20-25-year-old African American male who is 5’8” - 6’0” tall, with a stocky build and short hair. The man was wearing a white tank top and witnesses say he fled toward University property.

The release noted police also responded “to several other disorders in the area immediately following the shooting,” although no other arrests have been made.

The incident remains under investigation.
